“MENTORING IS A BRAIN TO PICK,
AN EAR TO LISTEN,
AND A PUSH IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION”
JOHN C. CROSBY
“It really made me think”. “I liked the way she made it really relevant to our age group”
My daughter is in first year and would be a quiet gentle girl and whilst she is getting on well in first year after your talks to them, she seems a lot happier in herself.
In preparing students for a world of increasing diversity, conflict and opportunity, schools must help students to develop the necessary skills to establish and grow positive relationships. To this end, Mount Mercy College has really benefitted from the expertise of Ms. Eileen Keane (Jump Start Your Confidence) in the areas of emotional and social learning.
Eileen’s service fulfils an important role in supporting the care team at Mount Mercy as we endeavour to promote student wellbeing by enabling them to engage positively in both academic and relational arenas.
Eileen has a clear understanding of the wide and varied issues concerning adolescents. Her input has contributed to students feeling more in control, better management of emotions and having a greater sense of freedom to act and make positive choices. She is adaptable, approachable, professional and discreet, putting the focus on people and relationships to build a climate of care, tolerance, dignity and respect.
The content of Eileen’s presentations is relevant and practical, whilst her presentation style keeps the students engaged. Informal feedback from both parents and students has been very positive and I, as Deputy Principal, am completely confident of the constructive and beneficial outcomes achieved.
